Brutons the Bakers manufactures a range of bread, pastry products and cakes, distributing and selling them through seven retail shops.
Brutons strives to achieve a high level of consistency and quality in their products; where possible raw materials and ingredients are sourced from local independent suppliers. Brutons employs around 70 staff mostly from Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, priding itself on low staff turnover; many of whom have worked for the company for over 15 years.
Brutons the Bakers was established in Cardiff in 1898, by Harry Windsor Bruton. The bakery saw four generations of the ‘Bruton’ family at the helm before retirement in 2002 which saw the ‘Best’ family taking over the business; members of the ‘Best’ family had previously been working for Brutons for over 20 years. The company is solely managed by the members of the ‘Best’ family and continues to be run as an independent family business.
